On the business side

My journey into photography began with a simple yet life-changing gift: a film camera from my husband.
I was handed this unassuming piece of equipment and had zero idea how to use it.

Our family vacations became my canvas, and I was instantly hooked on capturing the world through my lens. I am self taught with MANY trials and errors but I knew back then that this was the career path for me.

What started as a casual interest quickly grew into a deep passion. I found myself experimenting with angles, lighting, and composition, eager to learn more about the art of photography. The joy of freezing a moment in time, preserving both the visual beauty and the emotion of the scene, was exhilarating. Friends and family soon started asking for my help with their events, and each request was a new adventure that further fueled my enthusiasm.

Then one day I had a phone call from a very stressed bride. Her photographer cancelled on them 2 weeks out from their wedding and they were given my name to reach out to. INSERT PANIC! Our conversation went along the lines of “I have never shot a wedding before – “Thats ok, I am happy to get whatever we can get” So, with a lot of hesitation I agreed to photograph one of the most incredibly important days for them.

I immediately went into research mode and the day finally arrived. Not only did I photograph the wedding, the clients were happy, I was beyond happy and knew I had definitely found my career.

Over the last 20 years (yes 20!) I have pushed myself to learn everyday. I have photographed over 1000 weddings and in the last 5 years have really started learning towards the corporate world.

My goal then was to help couples have the best day they could, now it is to help businesses really stand out amongst a very crowded space with professionally lit and shot images.

Reflecting on my 20 years in photography, I feel grateful for the diversity of experiences and challenges that have shaped my work and my approach.

For years, I dedicated myself to wedding photography, capturing over a thousand couples on their big day. Weddings taught me a lot: adaptability under high pressure, attention to fleeting moments, and the importance of making people feel at ease in front of the camera, no matter how tense or emotional the day might be.

Each wedding was unique, and that experience gave me a deep understanding of how to capture the genuine, unscripted moments that tell a story.

Now, moving into corporate photography, I find that those same skills have immense value. Corporate headshots, branding, and event photography may not have the same emotional highs as weddings, but they require just as much adaptability and intuition.

Executives, business owners, and other professionals often feel uneasy with a camera pointed at them, and they’re looking for images that communicate confidence, trust, and authenticity. I approach each session with a commitment to create a relaxed atmosphere, helping clients show their best selves without forced smiles or stiff poses.

Working with corporate clients also taps into my detail-oriented side. I focus on lighting, posing, and even the subtleties of facial expressions, to ensure the photos reflect each client’s personality and the brand they represent. Whether it’s a solo headshot session, a company-wide shoot, or event coverage, I bring that wedding-day mentality of flexibility and focus to every corporate project.
